The original Lorem ipsum text
The most commonly used Lorem ipsum paragraph — the one that starts with the classic opening — is the standard version recognised across the entire design industry. It begins with the phrase that gives Lorem ipsum its name:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur.
This passage is loosely derived from Cicero's De Finibus, section 1.10.32. However, words have been scrambled and altered so the text is no longer coherent Latin. Furthermore, additional Lorem ipsum paragraphs used in longer layouts are generated from a standard pool of Lorem ipsum words — not directly from Cicero's original text.
